About Us About Us

RAPAD SKILLING is the training arm of CWQRAPAD, registered to deliver training in civil construction, business, hospitality and tourism, conservation and land management, retail and more.

RAPAD Skilling is located in two locations in Longreach.  Head Office and the Eagle Street Training Room are at 117 Eagle St.  Most civil construction training occurs at this site.  The second site is the RAPAD Skilling Swan Street Campus where business, hospitaltiy, tourism and non-accredited courses are delviered.

Prior to 2010, the precurser to RAPAD Skilling was the Australian College of Outback Tourism (ACOT).  ACOT was established in 2008 as a partnership between Industry, Remote Area Planning and Development, and Education Queensland.  ACOT was developed with a regional focus in response to interest and demand for quality training with an aim to build capacity in the region to further develop tourism and hospitality operations with an Outback focus.

RAPAD SKILLING was formed in 2010 to meet the lack of training delivered locally by registered training organisations, with a coordination role to ensure equitable delivery across the Central West.

RAPAD SKILLING gained accreditation as a registered training organisation in October 2010 (National Provider Number 32295).
